DAY 3: Santarém & Fatima, Portugal
Begin the morning in nearby Santarém for Mass at the Church of St. Stephen. Also known as the “Church of the Holy Miracle,” this parish is home to a Eucharistic miracle that dates back to the 13th century. Don't forget to take a photo outside the church at the mural where Blessed Carlo Acutis once posed for a picture!

Return to Fatima where, in 1917, Mary appeared to local children and the “miracle of the sun” occurred. After lunch, follow a Fatima native through a guided experience of the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. Then, visit the homes of Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta - the shepherd children of Fatima - in nearby Aljustrel. Be sure to pose for a photo at the wall where the children had their famous photo taken! Visit the site of the fourth apparition in Valinhos, the parish church of Fatima, and the cemetery.

Return to your hotel in Fatima for free time. Reconnect as a group for dinner and to participate in the evening’s Candlelight Procession. Overnight in Fatima.

Next, arrive in the best-preserved walled city in the world, home of St. Teresa of Avila who, with her spiritual director, St. John of the Cross, reformed the Carmelite Order.

See Avila through the eyes of your local guide on a tour of the ancient city. Visit the cell where St. Teresa lived, and see relics of both St. Teresa and St. John of the Cross. Celebrate Mass at the Monastery of the Incarnation. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Avila.
