9-Day Pilgrimage
DAY 1 - Your adventure begins!
Depart home for Poland (North American departure) DAY 2 - Warsaw Arrive in Warsaw (pictured). Travel through customs and meet your guide who will accompany you throughout your pilgrimage. Board your coach bus for the trip to your hotel. Celebrate Mass at St. Kostka Church, and explore the Shrine of Blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw |
DAY 3 - Warsaw
Take off on a morning walking tour of Poland's capital city. See the Warsaw Cathedral, the Royal Castle, and the quaint streets of Old Town (pictured). In the afternoon, pass through the Jewish Quarter and spend time admiring the peacocks in Łazienki Park. Enjoy free time in the evening to relax or to explore independently. You may even stumble upon the world's narrowest house, located in Warsaw's suburbs. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw. |
DAY 4 - Czestochowa
After breakfast, depart for Czestochowa and arrive in time for lunch. Visit the Jasna Gora Sanctuary (pictured). Learn the storied history of the Black Madonna before entering into prayer before Our Lady of Czestochowa. Celebrate Mass and take time for personal prayer before departing for your hotel in Krakow. Dinner and overnight in Krakow. |
DAY 5 - Krakow
Fresh from breakfast, set off on a morning walking tour of Krakow. Stroll around charming Market Square. Pause to listen to the bugler before entering St. Mary’s Basilica (pictured) for Mass. Climb the hill to Wawel Castle and Cathedral. After lunch, make your pilgrimage to the tomb of St. Faustina, to the Divine Mercy Shrine, and to the St. John Paul II Shrine. The evening is yours to venture out or relax in. Dinner and overnight in Krakow. |
DAY 6 - Wadowice & Auschwitz-Birkenau
Travel to Wadowice, the hometown of St. John Paul II. Tour his childhood home, and cross the street to celebrate Mass at the parish where he was Baptized. Make a pilgrimage to the Auschwitz Holocaust Memorial (pictured) and visit the cell of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Continue to the nearby Birkenau Memorial, where St. Theresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) was martyred. Reflect on the day during free time for personal prayer. Dinner and overnight in Krakow. |
DAY 7 - Wieliczka Salt Mines
Descend into the Wieliczka Salt Mines to explore underground lakes, chapels, and even a basilica. Marvel at the stunning works of art (pictured) crafted by devout miners throughout the centuries. Return to Krakow for a free afternoon and evening to discover the city's many churches, return to favorite holy sites, or simply relax in Market Square. Dinner and overnight in Krakow. |
DAY 8 - Zakopane
Head for the mountains! Breathe in the fresh air of Zakopane where St. John Paul II made his retreats. Spend the afternoon independently hiking trails, riding the funicular, and admiring the wooden chalets unique to the Tatras Mountains. Take in the uniquely Polish culture (pictured) that surrounds you as you slow yourself down to the pace of this mountain refuge. Dinner and overnight in Krakow. |
DAY 9 - Farewell!
Depart Krakow for Warsaw and your return flight home.
